I have probably hiked up Mt. Pisgah trail close to 100 times in my lifetime. Never have I seen the variety of wild flowers that I saw today. I had never seen trillium there before. It is so short lived, that I guess I’ve just never timed it right. Hawthorne was blooming and it usually blooms later. Bluets were everywhere and the mountain laurel had popped out with about 4 or 5 days until it’s peak.

There were only 4 other hikers on the trail today, but when I stopped for lunch at Pisgah Inn after the hike, I realized everyone was at the restaurant instead.  So, a day of hiking and fish and chips makes for a pretty good day.
