It has been such a rainy year. The trail had been scoured clean by water. The weeds are gi-normous. The humidity was stiffling. Aside from that, it was a nice hike.
Overcast, warm and humid day.
We only passed a couple of cyclists … no hikers. I think the hikers have just abandoned the Bennet Gap Trail section of this loop to the bikers. It would be easy to get run over in some sections.
So, anyway, we did the loop and it was a good workout. In another month, the trees will be turning colors and it will be breathtaking.
