Hiked Sacajawea Peak, highest peak in Bridger Range
These pictures do not begin to capture the severe grade and drastic dropoffs on this trail. When we began, my inner voice was screaming, "I don't think I can do this!" Phil later said that he could see that all over my face. The pictures of the Mtn. Goat were taken on the way down. He was standing below the summit of Sacajewea. It is easiest to see the steepness of the grade in that picture.

We hiked up the draw between Sacajewea and Hard Scrabble Peak, basically taking many many switchbacks to get up the face of the mountain. It was very steep. When we reached the saddle between the two peaks, we could see for miles. Then, we began our "assault" on the ridge trail to the summit. I quickly realized that success lay in the grasp of "those who do not look down."

When we reached the summit, I immediately found a rock and sat down. Then, I noticed that my feet were dangling off the face of the 9671 foot face of the peak. I scooted back to safety and had Phil go back and get my hiking poles. Geez Louise! I just wish the pictures could capture the grandeur and scope of the hike.

Left Grassy Mountain Ranch, destination: Big Sky
We made it to Big Sky in time to eat at Buck's T-4 Restaurant.
In the past, Buck's T-4 has been rated 5 stars and noted in many national magazines as the best restaurant in the Rockies with an award winning wine list.

Shields River Thunder Jack Plaque As we left Grassy Mtn., we wanted to document the historical significance of "our" river valley. Meagher County has only 1900 residents and is over 2 1/2 times the size of Rhode Island. No wonder we can't get a cell phone to work.

Low: 34° - Big Sky, MT
On Friday, our voicemail caught up with us. I guess seclusion has it's price.
We spent the day exploring the Meadow Village and the Mountain Village. Lone Peak had gotten snow covered overnight (sadly, no pictures).
We hiked Ousel Falls Trail in the Meadow Village (developed and maintained by Big Sky residents.)
We had dinner at Buck's T-4 again (Bison tenderloin) and it was exquisite.
